Two things really get me excited: incredible food and sensational skincare. I've been on the hunt for a dewy foundation that not only gives me that coveted "glass skin" effect but also offers skincare benefits. My interest piqued when I discovered this foundation ranked among the top three in Korea for "Best Glow Foundation" at the 2023 Glowpick Awards. Glowpick is a highly anticipated event that highlights the most sought-after beauty products of the year, as chosen by Korean consumers. Knowing it promises skincare benefits, radiant glow, and a dewy finish, I simply had to try it (spoiler alert it’s worth the hype)!
About the Espoir Brand
Espoir is a standout beauty line under Korea’s second largest beauty company, Amorepacific Group. Despite Amorepacific's roots tracing back to 1945, Espoir didn't emerge until 2014. Since then, it has become renowned for its professional makeup brand delivering un-riveled colour palettes that support customers to stand out as ‘their true selves.’ Espoir's core mission revolves around championing the 'Power of Transformation.’
Five Skin Tones
The Espoir Pro Tailor Foundation Be Glow New Class offers 5 different shades (tones), with the darkest shade being No. 25 Tan (see colour chart below). While it may not provide a wide range of shades for the Australian market, Espoir does have other foundation lines that provide a wider selection.
I used number 21 Ivory as shown below, a small pea size goes a long way.
Once I started spreading it all over my skin it provided a medium coverage that is neither too runny nor too matte. It easily glides over my skin as shown below.
Lastly the foundation matched my skin perfectly providing a wonderful natural finish.
I was really wowed by how great my skin looked after using this foundation! It gave me that glass skin effect I've been looking for. It's dewy without feeling greasy or heavy. The consistency is thin and feels really hydrating while providing lots of coverage. And it lasts all day – I’ve worn it for over 10 hours and it never looks cakey by the end of the day. It also blurred out my pores like a real-life blurring filter, which I’m super impressed with!
I have combo skin that is extremely dry sometimes, for the days my skin is extra dry I mix a little moisturiser with the Espoir and it works wonders for my application.
How to use
Make sure to apply this as the last step of your beauty routine, which means after applying sunscreen. Although the foundation does contain SPF27 PA++ as a little goes a long way, the small amount you apply won’t provide enough protection. Wait a few minutes until the sunscreen has fully settled, so you don’t accidentally remove it as you apply the foundation. I used my clean fingers to apply to reduce wastage, but you can also use a brush/sponge.
For people who prefer a lighter coverage, try mixing a dab of moisturizer with this foundation - it's like a little beauty alchemy. It gives your skin this effortlessly flawless look, like you're wearing nothing at all.
Sun Protection and skincare benefits
The addition of SPF27 PA++ makes this foundation perfect for everyday use as it protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
Shout-out to the formula for featuring some major star ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, collagen and peptides.
Hyaluronic acid:
Is a must have ingredient for dry skin girlies, it provides hydration to plump up skin, supports the skin barrier and helps calm irritation.
Collagen:
Enhances skin elasticity and firmness, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and promotes a youthful appearance.
Peptides:
Support collagen production, improve skin texture, and help minimize fine lines and wrinkles, contributing to a smoother and more rejuvenated complexion.

Fragrance
This foundation has a mild pleasant scent. I usually don’t like wearing scented products on my face, but I find this scent quite lovely. It also doesn’t linger around for too long. If you have sensitive skin that reacts to fragrances, you may want to stay away from this product.
The Verdict
I’ve read may reviews about this foundation online, they weren't joking when they said it gives your skin a "glow from every angle." Taking selfies was a breeze because my face looked naturally radiant no matter where I was.
Overall, I'm really loving this foundation, it gave me the appearance of pore-less glass skin and feels super light on my face. It keeps my skin hydrated, making it perfect for both summer and winter.
On one occasion where I wore this foundation for over 10 hours, I caught a glimpse of myself on a mirror and was flawed by how dewy and fresh my skin still looks. If that isn’t magic, I don’t know what is?
I will definitely be adding this to my must-have beauty routine!
